Forgive us this little indulgence. Having been brought up on the River Clyde, I was often read The Tales of Para Handy. These stories, which were made into a TV series, told the humorous adventures of Captain Para Handy and the crew of the puffer The Vital Spark. These little boats serviced the Clyde and the Western Isles by moving cargo and people around. This legendary boat is sadly now beached at Inverary. This is not the greatest photo ever taken, but it has sentimental value to all those who were living on the Clyde in the 60s.
